i can't believe she did this, but lisa at HR thoughts tagged me for 8 random things about me. so here goes:
the rules:
1) post these rules before you give your facts.
2) list 8 random facts about yourself.
3) at the end of your post, choose (tag) 8 people and list their names (linking to them)
4) leave them a comment on their blog letting them know they've been tagged!
eight random facts about me:
1. i used to speak French very very well, but forgot it. i'm trying to relearn the language.
2. i absolutely require a certain amount of time completely alone. most people i know can't stand to be alone and don't get it. but i have to have my time and my space to myself. this will probably prevent me from getting married again, unless it's to a guy with a super-big house where i can have my own wing.
3. as much as i love "classic literature", i'm a sucker for anything written by marian keyes. sure. it's chick lit. but she writes cool characters who have dark sides and stuff, and has created a family of characters who are hysterical. her irish story-telling and wit make for a great fun weekend read.
4. i'd love to own my own business someday. i better get a move on or all my "somedays" will pass me by.
5. i went to college on a vocal music scholarship. (but my first love was playing piano. too bad I don't have one, eh?)
6. i'm a complete girly-girl when it comes to "product". i love makeup and scrubs and masks and lotions and all that stuff. MAC, philosophy and bliss are my favorites in case you're planning to bribe me for links.
7. i don't know if it's because i lived both up north and down south when i was young, or if it's just because i have a good ear.....but i tend to pick up accents around me. so if i'm back in boston for a couple of days, the boston accent comes out. if i'm around someone with a strong southern accent, that comes out. it's a bad thing sometimes because people can get the wrong impression and think i'm mimicking them, but i'm not. it's completely unintentional. (oh yeah. when i get mad, i get all Boston. when i flirt, it's southern girl all the way.)
8. i have, without a doubt, the most awesome friends and family on the entire planet.
now i get to torture 8 more people by tagging them! (i like this number though.....8.)
1) linda dausend, my guest-host and star of her own blog at geo-caching as life
2) the evil HR lady (who will probably get tagged by everyone who lisa tagged)
3) christine kane (i love her blog!)
4) sherri leigh at on a lighter note....who has a perspective i greatly appreciate!
5) laurie ruettimann who is enjoying her summer. (gotta love someone with an email address of "punkrockHR". it's not something people think would go together, but it makes me think laurie and i would get along just swimmingly!)
6) gretchen rubin at the happiness project (why not? hey! she might do it! it might make her happy!)
7) lisa haneberg at 2 weeks to a breakthrough (whose book i just got!)
8) and last but not least david e. jackson. a) because he's a guy and i just decided not to make this an all-female list and b) i felt the need to include one of the many photography blogs i read and c) he's an awesome photographer and you guys should go check out his stuff
all the best!

I love the book Sushi For Beginners. I too like the classics, but this is fun fluff!

"fun fluff" is a great way to describe marian's books, jessica. thanks for that! and thanks for the comment!
and thank you, lisa. i generally groan at these types of things but it turned out to be fun - mostly reading other people's 8 things.
all the best!

I debated tagging too so opted not to enter the tag into blog coments - just a lttle bit less intrusive. Hope your summer is going well.
