i know i have been neglectful of this blog lately, and for that i apologize. boy, do i have some cool stuff going on though. more about that if and when the time comes.
in the meantime, let me direct you to some cool posts about some cool things that will be sure to provide some cool reading:
1) problogger - 9 attitudes of creative people: this is exactly what it sounds like. and darren rowse gives some attitudes and ideas about being more creative. (because we can all cultivate these attitudes right?) he also answers the question of whether we are born with creativity or if we can achieve it.
2) zen habits - cyan ta'eed on taking on more than you can handle: talk about a great attitude! this woman has created two creative communities. (i'm on a 'creative' kick, can you tell?) she talks about assessing and reaching her goals. but her goals don't just include money or typical thoughts about career. they're more comprehensive and deeper than that.
3) and in order to help us be more creative, the ririan project gives us 20 ways to come up with great ideas. i'm sure everyone can find at least one or two tips they can use there.
my best tip for when you're creatively stuck? go do something else. i've often looked at a problem from every angle, finally getting exasperated and running off to do something like laundry or cleaning the bathroom or working out. suddenly, the answer pops into my mind. just like that. it's very exciting when that happens too. sometimes, the answer is to stop looking at the problem and get busy doing something else.
speaking of creative things, the world's best presentation award has been announced. i rather like 'meet henry' myself.
what are ways you have of sparking creativity in your own life?
all the best!

Ah, the creativity post. Is this nature's way at calling me out for not getting past Chapter 1 in the Artist's Way :) Take Good Care! Lisa

ha! no, lisa. since you get up at 4:30 a.m. like i do, i think we both get a "pass" for the artist's way for now. would you agree?
all the best!

Thanks for these great sites, deb! I was particularly fond of the term "Constructive Discontent" on the list of 9 Attitudes of Highly Creative People.
